Connor Allen and Dylan McIlrath called up from Hartford; Will play tomorrow

As expected, Connor Allen and Dylan McIlrath have both been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack to replace the two free spots in the Rangers’ defensive pairings with the injured to Kevin Klein and captain Ryan McDonagh.
This is now the second straight season that Allen, 24, and McIlrath, 22, have been called up to play with the Rangers.
McIlrath, the Rangers’ 10th overall pick in the 2010 draft, turned pro during the 2012-2013 season, but played just 45 games due to surgery he required on his kneecap. He played in 62 games with Hartford last year, scoring six goals with 11 assists for a total of 17 points, as well as accumulating 165 penalty minutes Read the rest of this entry
McDonagh out 3-4 weeks; Klein’s X-Rays negative

Ryan McDonagh’s separated shoulder will sideline him for 3 to 4 weeks, according to head coach Alain Vigneault.
Ryan McDonagh, who was hit hard into the boards last night and separated his left shoulder, will miss 3 to 4 weeks as a result of the injury, with the information coming from Alain Vigneault and Steve Zipay.
The shoulder that was injured was the same one McDonagh hurt at the end of last season, where he missed 5 games with a sore shoulder.
With the type of injury he suffered, the result could have been a lot worse. Three to four weeks could have been a lot worse for the Rangers, but the absence of New Yorks number one defenseman will really hurt the team, and it will be hard to find someone to replace him. Read the rest of this entry
