Derek Stepan to begin skating; What will the lines look like when Stepan returns?

Derek Stepan, out since before the season with a fractured fibula, will begin skating soon, and is eligible to return on November 3rd.
It was recently announced that Derek Stepan, who has not played this season due to a fractured fibula, will resume skating within the next few days.
Prior to the season opener, Stepan was placed on LTIR, which meant he would miss a minimum of 10 games. This means that Stepan is eligible to return on November 3rd for a home game against St. Louis, and there is no indication that he will not return.
Stepan was integral to the Rangers’ success last season in the regular season and the playoffs. Centering the top line, Stepan scored 17 goals along with 40 assists in all 82 of New York’s regular season games. He also had 5 goals and 10 assists in 24 postseason games. Read the rest of this entry
Rangers comeback to beat the Devils in OT for their third straight win; Rick Nash scores 8th goal

After allowing 3 straight goals to the Devils, all on the power play, the Rangers managed to find a way to come back and score three straight goals of their own, winning on a Kevin Klein goal in overtime.
Rick Nash scored the tying goal late in the third, continuing his dominance to the start of the season. He now has 8 goals on the year, which is the most in the NHL, with a total of 9 points for the year.
Lundqvist was pretty sharp again tonight, and did not allow an even strength goal. Lundqvist made 28 saves as well as some crucial stops late in the third period and in overtime. Read the rest of this entry
Rangers head to New Jersey in a division rivalry matchup

Henrik Lundqvist will make his fifth consecutive start tonight ans the Rangers face off against the rival Devils.
After ending a four game home stand with two consecutive wins, including a shutout victory over the Sharks, the Rangers will head to the Prudential Center to take on bitter rivals, the New Jersey Devils.
After losing two straight games at home by a score of 6-3, the Rangers have won their last two games, allowing only one goal in the last 125 minutes they have played.
Henrik Lundqvist has also rebounded nicely. Lundqvist stopped 62 of the last 63 shots he faced in victories over Carolina and San Jose, as well as stopping all three shots against Carolina.
Henrik will be in net tonight, his fifth consecutive start. Read the rest of this entry
Rangers shut out Sharks in a night of firsts; Nash scores 7th goal of the season

Now this is the New York Rangers team that we were all waiting for.
The Rangers put on a fantastic performance in their best game of the year, as well as recording their second consecutive win, in what Henrik Lundqvist called “the most complete game of the year.”
The Rangers handed the Sharks their first loss in regulation this season, as well as shutting them out, despite San Jose having 33 shots on net.
Duclair a healthy scratch; Hayes to center one of the top lines

Anthony Duclair will be a healthy scratch tonight as the Rangers will face off against the big-bodied San Jose Sharks.
When the Rangers get on the ice to take on the Sharks to finish off their four game homestand, Anthony Duclair will not be on the ice with them for the first time this season.
Duclair is a healthy scratch for the game, and Vigneault claimed that it is not because of his play. Duclair had 3 assists with a plus-four rating in the 5 games that he has played with New York.
Vigneault has named a few reasons for Duclair being scratched. Duclair has played five games in eight nights, something that is new for the rookie coming from junior hockey. Vigneault also said that when Duclair is playing, he wants him to be in the top-nine. And against the Sharks, Vigneault would like the size that Malone, Glass, and Hayes bring, especially after seeing John Scott’s hit on Islanders’ forward Mikhail Grabovski on Thursday.
