Rangers Prospect Watch; Duclair scores in pre-tourney game

Anthony Duclair played well in his first game for Team Canada, playing right wing on the first line, and picking up a goal and an assist.
About two weeks ago, the Rangers announced that they would loan 19 year rookie to Anthony Duclair to Team Canada for the World Juniors Championship. The tournament doesn’t officially start until the 26th of December, but teams have already played some pre-tourney games, similar to a preseason.
Last night, Team Canada defeated Team Sweden by a final score of 5-2. Duclair scored the third goal of the game, and also picked up an assist in the game.
Duclair skated on Team Canada’s top line alongside other top prospects, like Sam Reinhart of the Buffallo Sabres, and Max Domi of the Arizona Coyotes. The trio generated a ton of scoring chances, and was one of the best lines on the team. Read the rest of this entry
Rangers win again against Carolina; Talbot records third shutout

Make it six!
In front of an emotional crowd mourning the loss of two NYPD officers, The Rangers (17-10-4) continued to play their best hockey of the year, picking up another victory and sweeping the home-and-home against the Carolina Hurricanes (9-20-4).
After making a comeback victory last night, the Rangers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, shutting out the Hurricanes by a score of 1-0. Read the rest of this entry
Rangers keep on rolling over Carolina in a shootout; Kevin Klein scores late tying goal

The Rangers (16-10-4) managed to find a way to win again over the hard-working Carolina Hurricanes (9-20-3) in the shootout. JT Miller and Kevin Klein were the goal scorers for the Rangers, and Mats Zuccarello sealed the victory in the shootout.
The Rangers rallied twice in the third period to sweep their road trip, winning all four games. It is only the fourth time in team history that the Rangers have swept a road trip of four or more games. The shootout victory also extended the Rangers season high win streak to five games. Rangers looking to extend winstreak against the ‘Canes; Brassard to play

The Rangers (15-10-4) will look to extend their season-best four game win streak against the Carolina Hurricanes (9-19-3) in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is the first game of a home-and-home series, with the final game being played tomorrow at Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers and the Hurricanes have played once before this season, and the Blueshirts walked away with a 2-1 victory in the shootout. Henrik Lundqvist started and made 29 saves in the win, and Anton Khudobin stopped 33 of 34 shots. Derick Brassard scored the only goal in regulation for the Rangers. Read the rest of this entry
Brassard expected to play in Carolina; Talbot signs contract extension

After missing the past two games with the mumps, Derick Brassard rejoined the Rangers for Friday’s practice. Following the morning skate, Rangers head couch Alain Vigneault announced that he expects him to play Saturday’s game in Carolina.
Brassard, who centered Rick Nash and Mats Zuccarello during practice, said that he would wait until the morning before he decided if he was ready to go against the Hurricanes, after having some difficulties building up his strength and conditioning once again. Read the rest of this entry
