Rangers look to extend win streak against Ovechkin and the Capitals

The Rangers (17-10-4) are playing their best hockey of the season, currently in the midst of a six game win streak, and they will face a tough challenge against the Washington Capitals (17-10-6), who are two points ahead of them in the standings.
The Capitals did play last night, beating the Ottawa Senators by a score of 2-1. Goaltender Braden Holtby stole the show, stopping 38 shots in his 15th victory of the year. Read the rest of this entry

The Rangers (15-10-4) will look to extend their season-best four game win streak against the Carolina Hurricanes (9-19-3) in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is the first game of a home-and-home series, with the final game being played tomorrow at Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers and the Hurricanes have played once before this season, and the Blueshirts walked away with a 2-1 victory in the shootout. Henrik Lundqvist started and made 29 saves in the win, and Anton Khudobin stopped 33 of 34 shots. Derick Brassard scored the only goal in regulation for the Rangers. Read the rest of this entry

The Rangers (14-10-4) will look to extend their win streak to four games when they take on the recently struggling Calgary Flames (17-13-2), who have dropped their last five games.
The Rangers have not won more than three in a row this season, and they have only won that many consecutive games twice this season. Extending the streak to four games would help the Rangers start to establish the consistency that they are searching for. Read the rest of this entry
Rangers ready to start a four game road trip in Vancouver

After playing just three games in the past 15 days, a well-rested Rangers (12-10-4) is looking forward to taking on the Vancouver Canucks (18-9-2), who are coming off of a seven game road trip of their own.
The Rangers have not played since Monday, where they defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in overtime by a final score of 4-3.
After struggling for parts of the season, the Rangers are hoping that their first extended road trip of the season will help them find some consistency and their hockey identity. Alain Vigneault is also returning to Vancouver, giving the team an extra incentive to win. Read the rest of this entry

After a difficult loss on the road, the Rangers (11-10-4) will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins (18-6-2) at Madison Square Garden in the third match up between this two teams.
The Rangers have earned three out of a possible four points against the Penguins. The last time that they played, the Rangers lost in the shootout after it was ruled that Dan Boyle double-contacted the puck, meaning no goal.
The last time that the Penguins came to Madison Square Garden, the Blueshirts put forward one of their best efforts of the season, shutting out Pittsburgh by a final score of 5-0. Read the rest of this entry
