The Rangers had a big win on Monday night, extending their modest win streak to two games with a 6-3 victory over the Florida Panthers. The tough competition will continue on Wednesday when the Rangers will take on the Boston Bruins to cap off their four game homestand.

Five different Rangers tallied a goal on Sunday, which was very nice to see from an offense that had been sputtering as of late. Read the rest of this entry

Rangers win thrilling battle over Panthers at the Garden; Zuccarello comes up big

In one of the most exciting games of the year, the Rangers (29-15-4) offense came alive once again, scoring three goals in the final period to come away with a 6-3 game victory over the Florida Panthers (21-17-10) at the Garden for their second consecutive win.

The Rangers survived some lulls in their play at the start of the game and towards the end of the second period, scoring an impressive six goals against a tough and desperate Panthers team. After scoring just one goal in the first two games following the All Star break, the Rangers have exploded for 10 goals in their last two games. Read the rest of this entry

After winning on Saturday to end their brief two game skid, the Rangers (28-15-4) will take on the struggling Florida Panthers (21-16-10, who have lost six of their last seven games.

This will be the second matchup of the season between these two teams, with the first being a 5-2 Rangers victory on December 31st. In that game, Derek Stepan recorded three assists, and Chris Kreider, Ryan McDonagh, and Martin St. Louis recorded a goal and an assist. Henrik Lundqvist earned the win with 18 saves. Tonight brings another tough test for the New York Rangers (27-14-4), as they take on another Eastern Conference rival in the Montreal Canadiens (30-13-3) at the Garden.

Following a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Islanders, the Rangers will contend with another speedy and skilled team that happens to be one of the top teams in the East. The Rangers have played the Canadiens twice this season, splitting the games with the home team winning both. The Canadiens won the first game at the Bell Centre 3 to 1, with Carl Hagelin scoring the only Ranger goal, and Carey Price making 34 saves. The Rangers countered with a 5-0 win at Madison Square Garden, with Henrik Lundqvist stopping 21 shots for the shutout. Five different Rangers skaters had goals, with Hagelin also scoring in that game, and Martin St. Louis picking up a goal and an assist. Read the rest of this entry

Following a tough loss to the Islanders on Tuesday, Alain Vigneault decided to juggle the lines at today’s practice ahead of the Rangers (27-14-4) battle at home against the Montreal Canadiens.

Kevin Hayes’ struggles continue as he continues to develop into an NHL center, and the third line did not get many quality chances last night. Carl Hagelin did score the lone Ranger goal, but it came on the power play when Dominic Moore was the centering. Read the rest of this entry
