After looking dead for the first two periods of the game, and dealing with two ejections, the Rangers managed to stay strong and scored 5 goals in the third period, leading them to a crazy 5-4 victory over the Minnesota Wild.
This was the first time the Rangers have scored 5 goals in a period since 2011 against the Canadiens, and it’s only the first time they have come back from a 3-0 deficit in the third since 1992 against the Minnesota North Stars.
Coming into tonight, the Wild had only given up 6 goals in 6 games. The Rangers practically managed to double that in one period, with the 5 goals coming from 5 different Rangers. Kevin Klein, Rick Nash, Derick Brassard, Anthony Duclair, and Mats Zuccarello all scored for New York.

The Rangers return home to begin a 4 game home stand starting with tonight’s game against the Minnesota Wild.
After a loss in which New York was overwhelmed by Montreal, Vigneault and the Rangers (4-4-0) will change things up in order to create more offense tonight against the Wild (4-2-0) in the first game of a four game home stand. Vigneault also may shift the wing positions for tonight’s home-ice match as well.
After struggling in Montreal, especially in the faceoff circle, rookie Kevin Hayes may wind up being a healthy scratch for tonight. Hayes was demoted to the fourth line towards the end of the game after beginning the night with Chris Kreider and Rick Nash. Read the rest of this entry

Heading into the Bell Centre, the New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens were both riding 3 game win streaks, and for the Rangers, it came to an end.
After going through a 6-game series in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, the two teams are starting to develop a heated rivalry, which certainly came out in tonight’s game.
Following the tragedy that occurred in Ottawa a few days ago, the Habs were looking to help distract their country and come together to watch the sport they love.
The Canadiens came away with a 3-1 victory, thanks to goaltender Carey Price, who was stellar in tonight’s effort. Price is now 8-1-1 in his career against the Rangers. Read the rest of this entry
Duclair back into the lineup for Saturday’s game against Montreal
Bobby Bevilacqua

Anthony Duclair will get his first start since he last played against the Carolina Hurricanes, and will be playing in his hometown of Montreal.
Anthony Duclair grew up right outside of Montreal, and as a result, he was a Canadiens fan in his childhood. He idolized his favorite players like Saku Koivu, the captain of the Habs for 10 years. And now, Duclair will get his chance to play at the Bell Centre when the rangers face off against the Montreal Canadiens.
Duclair had three assists and a plus-four rating before he was a healthy scratch for the Rangers’ last two games. Vigneault said that it wasn’t because of his play, but because he wanted to adjust the lineup for the big-bodied Sharks as well as for the Devils game. Read the rest of this entry
Derek Stepan to begin skating; What will the lines look like when Stepan returns?
Bobby Bevilacqua

Derek Stepan, out since before the season with a fractured fibula, will begin skating soon, and is eligible to return on November 3rd.
It was recently announced that Derek Stepan, who has not played this season due to a fractured fibula, will resume skating within the next few days.
Prior to the season opener, Stepan was placed on LTIR, which meant he would miss a minimum of 10 games. This means that Stepan is eligible to return on November 3rd for a home game against St. Louis, and there is no indication that he will not return.
Stepan was integral to the Rangers’ success last season in the regular season and the playoffs. Centering the top line, Stepan scored 17 goals along with 40 assists in all 82 of New York’s regular season games. He also had 5 goals and 10 assists in 24 postseason games. Read the rest of this entry
