Four days ago, I wrote a speculative article about how the Rangers should go out and acquire the recently ousted Jonathan Drouin, who made his trade request public this week.

The day after that article went up on the site, the NY Post published an article that stated that the Rangers “are in big time” on Drouin, according to sources close to the paper and Larry Brooks.

Blueshirts’ GM Jeff Gorton first contacted Lightning GM Steve Yzerman when the Rangers were in Tampa Bay for last Wednesday’s 5-2 Rangers win. That conversation came before the trade request went public. Read the rest of this entry

The Rangers practiced today ahead of their two game road trip, beginning tomorrow night against the Minnesota Wild, who sit in third place in the very competitive Central division.

Brady Skjei made his NHL debut at Madison Square Garden, and showcased some of his really impressive talents and abilities. His skating, probably his best asset, was strong, catching up to guys like Jordan Eberle and Leon Draisaitl, and then pushing them off the puck. UPDATE: AV said that Girardi has swelling in his knee and will not play tomorrow. A defenseman will be recalled. It would be Diaz but he is injured so expect Skjei.

John Shannon of Sportsnet reported on Twitter today that the New York Rangers have placed center Jarret Stoll on waivers. If he clears, he will report to Hartford.

Jarret Stoll was a healthy scratch in Calgary on Saturday, with Tanner Glass playing a prominent role on the fourth line since he was recalled. Stoll had appeared in 29 games this season, recording one goal and an assist. Stoll had not been all that effective this season on the fourth line. Read the rest of this entry

After a disappointing performance against the Avalanche, mustering just 25 shots on goal, Alain Vigneault switched up the lines to try and make a spark for a team that has won just one of their last six games.

Here were the lines from practice; Read the rest of this entry
